How to register for PromptPay at Krungsri

To understand why you need PromptPay, start your acquaintance with the article “What is PromptPay and how to use it in Thailand”.

Registering for PromptPay at Krungsri Bank

Open the Krungsri Bank mobile banking app.

Click on the “All menu” button.

On the next screen, select “Register PromptPay”.

Read and accept the terms of use.

Select a bank account to register with PromptPay and link a phone number.

When opening a bank account, you provided a phone number, by default this phone number will be offered for registration in PromptPay.

Select a phone number and click the “Next” button.

Check that the data is correct and click the “Next” button.

Wait until you receive the Registration Code in an SMS message.

Enter the registration code received from SMS.

Immediately after that, you will receive a notification about successful registration in PromptPay.

Error “Sorry, information mismatch. You cannot register PromptPay Service”

During one of my attempts to register with PromptPay, I received the following message:

Sorry, information mismatch. You cannot register PromptPay Service.

I closed the application, waited a bit and started the registration again – everything went fine, the error message did not appear again.

How to check PromptPay registration status with Krungsri Bank

To check your PromptPay registration, open the Krungsri Bank mobile banking app. On the “Overview” tab, click on the “All menu” button.

Then click “Check Your Registration”.

You will see PromptPay ID, account number, channel, and date of registration in PromptPay.

At Krungsri Bank, to de-register with PromptPay, you need to visit a bank branch. It is not possible to do this in an online banking application or at an ATM.

How to activate PayAlert at Krungsri Bank

Open the Krungsri Bank mobile banking app.

Click on the “All menu” button.

On the next screen, select “PayAlert”.

Select “Register”.

Read the terms of use and click “Agree”.

Select “Requestor”, that is, the phone on whose behalf the request will be executed (to which money transfers will be credited via PromptPay). Then select “Payer”, that is, also the phone from which payments will be made through PromptPay. The phones may be the same. You don't have to choose both, you can choose one.

When you're ready, click the “Next” button.

Check the correctness of the entered data and click the “Next” button.

Wait until you receive an SMS with a one-time password.

Enter the password you received.

Immediately after that, you will see a message confirming the successful registration of PayAlert.

How to activate PromptPay International at Krungsri Bank

By default, PromptPay International is already activated in Krungsri Bank immediately after PromptPay is enabled.

You can check the current status, disable or enable PromptPay International as follows.

Open the Krungsri Bank mobile banking app.

Go to the “Settings” section.

Select “International Transfer”.

You will be redirected to a page showing the current status for:

  • Outward International Promptpay – outgoing international transfers PromptPay
  • Inward International Promptpay – incoming international transfers from PromptPay

Here you can enable or disable these international money transfers.
