How to enable online shopping in Kasikorn Bank. Why is Kasikorn Bank card not working for online payments (SOLVED)

February 1, 2023

After opening a bank account with Kasikorn Bank and receiving a bank card, you can try to use it to pay in online stores, and it may turn out that the card does not work.

At the same time, the card works normally for withdrawing cash and paying for purchases in stores. Only online purchases do not work when you manually need to enter the card number, expiration date, owner's name and secret code (CSC/CVC/CVV).

Why can’t I pay with a Kasikorn Bank card online?

In Thailand, for bank accounts opened in recent years, online purchases are disabled by default and must be manually enabled.

For different Thai banks, the procedure for enabling online shopping varies, this article will show you what needs to be done so that you can buy online with a Kasikorn bank card.

How to enable online shopping in Kasikorn Bank

To get started, go to this page: https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/Apply/internet-shopping-by-k-debit-card

This is the official website of Kasikorn Bank and in any case you will not need to enter full details. It is enough to enter the card number.

On this page, click the only button “Apply online”.

The page that opens contains the following information:

Register / Information Update for Online Shopping (Verified by VISA, MasterCard SecureCode, J/Secure)

Remark : Note that your card data will only be used to verify your identity as part of registering your card and to check your eligibility. This information will be kept as confidential.

Enter the card number.

After entering the card number, the following options will be available to you:

  • Register – It means registration for online purchases
  • Information Update / Deactivate

You need to click “Register”.

Then enter the required data that the system will request.

My card is already registered, and to register a new one, you may need to enter the expiration date of the card, passport number and your date of birth.

Note that “Citizen ID” is for Thais and “Passport” is for foreigners.

If the system reports “invalid data” in response to the entered passport number, then try switching between “Citizen ID” and “Passport” after entering the passport number, or vice versa before entering it. One of these ways worked for me.

Wait until you receive an SMS with a one-time password (OTP) and enter it. The phone number you provided when opening a bank account will be used.

All is ready! Now you can shop online!

How to change SMS language with one-time passwords (OTP)

Go to this page: https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/Apply/internet-shopping-by-k-debit-card

Click the only “Apply online” button.

Select “Information Update / Deactivate”.

Wait until you receive an SMS with a one-time password (OTP) and enter it. The phone number you provided when opening a bank account will be used.

A page will open where the following settings will be available to you:

  • Select language to receive OTP password (Thai; English)
  • Change mobile number
  • Deactivate

Select the desired action.

To change the language and deactivate, you only need to confirm the action.

To change the phone number, you must enter information about the owner of the bank account.
